(Past Event) Free School Holiday Entertainment
Calling All Explorers!
Ginger Boy is welcoming some of his animal friends to the Ginger Factory and you’re invited too!
Ginger Boy loves all animals big and small and these school holidays are your chance to come face to face with some of his favourites. Visit the old train shed from Monday 19th to Friday 30th September, anytime from 10am to 1pm, and you can meet some of the wildlife and Zoo Keepers that are visiting from Wildlife HQ.
You’ll be mesmerised by colourful snakes and lizards, beautiful native birds and the modern day dinosaur that is the feisty freshwater crocodile.
If cute and fluffy is more your thing be sure to move around to the petting display where you can make friends with the baby chickens and guinea pigs. For some educational entertainment check in with the Zoo Keeper at the native bird display. Here you will be able to meet chatterbox Charlie, the Sulphur Crested Cockatoo and cheeky boy Hector, the Red Tailed Black Cockatoo. Keep a tight hold of your keys though, Hector has a great trick that makes them disappear!
If that isn’t enough excitement, bring your own camera and for a $2 donation to the Zoos Conservation Society, you can have your photo taken with pythons, rainforest lizards and desert reptiles. Get up close and personal with these captivating animals and meet the likes of Spartacus, a laid back, cricket eating Central Bearded Dragon, or hold on to Squeeze, Wildlife HQ’s resident Black Headed Python.
In addition to our fun school holiday program we always have the following on offer:
- Follow the Gingerbread Man around the world on Overboard the boat ride
- Hop on board 'Moreton' our 115 year old Ginger Train - keep an eye out for the chooks running alongside!
- Find out why we have the World's Finest Ginger on The Factory Tour
- Get a buzz out of life in the Super Bee presentation
- Meet new friends in our undercover Kid's Playground
- Test your skills on our life size games of Checkers and Snakes and Ladders.
The Ginger Factory is the place to be for excitement and adventure these school holidays.
